What does and does not belong in the GotAuthentic database?
We are a digital space designed to serve primarily collectors of sports memorabilia, game-played and game-used artifacts, or other unique items. We're happy for any user who wants to share their collection, as well as those who who comes in just to look. In order to maintain the quality of subject matter and content, please follow these lines. We reserve the right to delete items that do not fit the focus of the site.
The GotAuthentic database includes:
Game worn jerseys or parts of jerseys (typically football shorts, etc.)
Used and collectible pieces of equipment that can be assigned to a specific athlete or club
Balls, pucks, hockey sticks, tennis rackets, helmets, shoes, etc. - always only those that can be assigned to a specific athlete or club or sporting event
Memorabilia with a story - typically items associated with a famous athlete, made with original technology or otherwise unique
The GotAuthentic database includes with reservations:
Original unique prints, posters, tickets. Please consider if the item is collectible or historically interesting before posting here, or contact us. We are happy to post and add decades-old posters to the database, but we will not compromise on things like new club newsletters or new photos (even signed ones)
Tracksuits, jackets and other items of clothing. It depends on the circumstances, importance and age. Please contact us before posting.
The GotAuthentic database does not include:
Fan jerseys (not even signed)
Replica jerseys (including professional replicas, indistinguishable from game worn jerseys)
Unidentifiable equipment that cannot be assigned to a specific athlete/club
Sports cards (we'll leave this to specialist websites)
Souvenirs, pucks from the fan shop and generally most fan merchandise
