Grant Ledyard naskočil do turnaje po své první sezóně v NHL (za Rangers odehrál 42 zápasů, ve kterých nasbíral 20 bodů za 8 branek a 12 asistencí). Později si v NHL připsal celkem 1028 startů v barvách Rangers, Los Angeles, Buffala, Washingtonu, Dallasu, Bostonu, Vancouveru, Ottawy a Tampy Bay. V play-off pak odehrál dalších 83 zápasů. Celkem si v kariéře tenhle obránce připsal 366 bodů v základní části NHL a dalších 18 v bojích o Stanley Cup. Dres si po skončení finálového utkání vyměnil s českým obráncem Miloslavem Hořavou (oba měli stejné číslo dresu - 4).

Later, he scored a total of 1028 starts in the NHL in the colors of the Rangers, Los Angeles, Buffalo, Washington, Dallas, Boston, Vancouver, Ottawa and Tampa Bay. He then played another 83 games in the playoffs. In total, in his career, this defenseman scored 366 points in the regular season of the NHL and another 18 in the postseason games.

After the IIHF tournament in Prague he exchanged jerseys with Czech defender Miloslav Hořava (both had the same jersey number - 4).
