For Jiří Šlégr, this was the very first of his two starts at the Olympic Games in his career (then Nagano 1998). He played all 8 games, (2 points, 1+1, 14 PIM). Czechoslovakia won bronze medals. The jersey is from the Tackla company, made of a material typical of the first half of 1992 (thicker and heavier than the usual "Tackla"). Czechoslovakia used jerseys with the CSFR logo this season, but Olympic rules prescribe to use national symbols only - not federation logo. So Czechoslovakia used this jersey (flag/heavier mesh) at the Olympic Games. Practically the same jerseys (material and flag) were used by U20 at the World Championships, which began at the end of 1991. The difference is in the country of production and the label - at U"20" WCH was the classic Tackla label (and was Made in Finland), at the Olympic Games in Albertville is the label different (see photo). On the back of the label are traces of the words "Designed in Finland" and "Made in Estonia". The comma is missing in the nameplate (correctly is Šlégr). All Czech jerseys of players with a comma in the name had this mistake in Albertville (white and red variants of jerseys). The hooks were correct in all cases. This jersey comes from personal collection of Jiří Slegr. By default it is stored in bank safe.
