Burger started this season in Vsetín where he won the league in previous season but he was traded to Vítkovice during 01/02 season where he started his long career there. He played 20 games for Vsetín (7+11) and 32 games (20+20) in regular season and 13 games (5+9) in play offs for Vítkovice where he won the silver medal after the final loss against Sparta Praha.
